A note from our Chief Smuggler
We're really proud to introduce you to our latest collection, celebrating an event we love with an emerging organisation TriMob who are helping to build a stronger Australia.
As part of the release, I caught up with an old friend and TriMob founder Nat Heath, to get some tips for the upcoming Sydney marathon and also learn a bit more about TriMob. Here are a few of the highlights from the catch up 👇
Linny: Nat, we know running a marathon is about more than just your personal best… But what’s your personal best?
Nat: For the Sydney Marathon it's 2 hours 52 minutes… but in smugglers this year… it’ll be 2:50 😉 It’s a great course there.
Linny: Any tips for people wanting to make it across the line?
Nat: Firm and steady… you want to hold a pace where you can hold a conversation if you have too.
Linny: What are some key facts about TriMob we can share with our smuggling community?
Nat: We are
- Indigenous founded & led org.
- Improving the health & wellbeing of First Nations people through swimming, running & biking.
- Getting more Australians to learn about and celebrate First Nations culture
Linny: And we love TriMob for how you’re combining improving the health of First Nations people and at the same time bringing all Australians, Indigenous & non-Indigenous for the journey.
At Budgy we’ve got to meet the people behind the scenes at TriMob and they’re doing an incredible job to achieve the above. We’ve committed as a baseline to the following for the next 3 years:
- 10% of Sydney Marathon & TriMob Smugglers goes direct to TriMob.
- 10% of all Sydney Marathon Expo Sales goes direct to TriMob
- Min commitment each year of $10k in cash and $10k in stock or prizes.
Here’s 3 ways you can get involved.
- Donate direct to Tri Mob to help build a stronger Australia
- Follow the TriMob journey on Instagram.
- Grab these spicy smugglers. Purchase by Tuesday 10th September if you wanna be smuggling the actual marathon in them.
We’ll be there next Sunday to cheer on all the mad men and women competing in the Sydney Marathon. For any one competing the race in smugglers, I’ll personally shout you a well earned refreshment after the race.
Up the Mob!
