Things to Do at Bondi Beach
1. Swim between the flags. Bondi is patrolled by professional lifeguards all year, and the Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club, founded in 1907, is the oldest surf lifesaving club in the world. The northern end is usually the gentler side for a swim. The calm looking water at the southern end is often a rip, so stick to the flagged area.
2. Walk the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. Around 6km of sandstone cliffs, ocean pools and small beaches through Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly. From May to November, keep an eye out for passing whales.
3. Pick up a pair of budgies on Campbell Parade. Swim briefs are about as Bondi as it gets, and ours are made in Australia. Drop into the store, choose your print and head back to the beach wearing them. Ask the team about the Bondi exclusives, designs you cannot buy anywhere else, which makes them a souvenir you will actually use.
4. Watch the Icebergs. The Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club has been swimming through the colder months since 1929. The ocean pool at the southern end is open year round for laps, or you can simply watch the members keep the tradition going.
5. Stop by the Bondi skate bowl. On the promenade near the beach, the bowl draws skaters and spectators most days and hosts the Vans Bowl-A-Rama each February.
6. Grab a post swim coffee or fish and chips. Hall Street and the Campbell Parade strip are full of cafes, and fish and chips on the grass overlooking the water is a Bondi classic.
Tips for Your Bondi Visit
Go early. Mornings are when Bondi is at its best, with ocean swimmers, surfers and a quieter beach before the crowds arrive.
Take public transport. Bondi is around 30 minutes from the city. Catch a train to Bondi Junction and a bus down to the beach, or take a bus straight from the CBD. Note the store is on Campbell Parade at Bondi Beach, not in Bondi Junction.
Forgot your swimmers? It happens more than you would think. We are open from 9am every day, so you can get sorted and still make the most of the morning.
Cannot find your size? If the pair you want is not in stock on the day, the team will post it to you for free, so you do not have to leave empty handed or squeeze it into your luggage.
Pack sun protection. Bondi faces the open ocean with very little shade on the sand. A hat and a rashie go a long way on a full beach day.

Bondi or Manly?
It is one of the most searched questions for anyone visiting Sydney, and the honest answer is that both are worth your time. Bondi is closer to the city and has the coastal walk, the Icebergs pool and a busier, buzzier strip. Manly is a ferry ride across the harbour, with a more relaxed feel and the Corso running down to the beach.
