Seven Years in the Making
The Roosters have not lifted the trophy since their back to back titles in 2018 and 2019, and the pressure was on Trent Robinson to bring it home again. His side answered in style. They were the first team into the grand final after a dominant 36-20 win over the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium, with Sam Walker making a triumphant return from injury and Mark Nawaqanitawase scoring two tries and setting up another.
Captain James Tedesco led from the back, hooker Reece Robson proved to be the missing piece in the middle, and the whole squad played with one goal in mind: sending Daly Cherry-Evans and Angus Crichton out as premiership winners. Mission accomplished.
A Big Year for the Tricolours
The men weren't the only Roosters making noise in 2026. The NRLW side went through the regular season unbeaten, 11 wins from 11, to claim the minor premiership. They kept the dream of a perfect season alive with a hard fought 20-10 preliminary final win over the Raiders at Allianz Stadium, sealed by a late Tarryn Aiken try, to book their own place on grand final day. It has been a season to remember right across the club.
Another One for the Cabinet
Few clubs carry history like the Roosters. Founded in Paddington in 1908 as Eastern Suburbs, the club became the Sydney City Roosters in 1995 and the Sydney Roosters in 2000, and the tricolours have built one of the most decorated trophy cabinets in the game along the way. Robinson won the premiership in his very first season in charge in 2013, then went back to back in 2018 and 2019. Now there's another one to add: a 16th premiership for the club, and a fourth for Robinson.
